SCHOOL TRIPS ABROAD

CHALLENGING, LIFE-CHANGING & FUN...

In recent years, more and more schools are looking to do volunteer work on their overseas expeditions. Volunteer trips are an excellent way to make a positive impact, visit exciting destinations, and for students to immerse themselves in diverse cultures and increase their global awareness. However, organising such a trip involves A LOT of preparation. From flights and insurance to pre trip training and that’s even before you’ve looked at organising the itinerary!

PMGY have the expertise, experience and networks to make such an expedition accessible, safe and stress-free. Furthermore, as a social initiative we are able to guarantee affordable prices without sacrificing the quality of our programmes. We can tailor a trip around your requirements. Whether you wish to solely focus on volunteering, or would like to incorporate volunteering into a wider trip – we can work together to create the perfect itinerary for you.

CASE STUDY - PERSE SCHOOL, CAMBRIDGE

3 WEEKS ADVENTURE & VOLUNTEERING IN VIETNAM

When a National Vietnamese TV station wants to cover your school trip to their country you know you’re doing something pretty special. And that’s exactly what happened in 2012 when Perse School travelled with Plan My Gap Year to help build and renovate a school in Pa Che village, one of the poorest and most deprived in the Son La Province of northern Vietnam. Pupils worked tirelessly to help reconstruct the kindergarten by demolishing the old wooden structure and replacing it with a permanent concrete one. The new building was equipped with all the necessary facilities that the children required including a brand new playground out front, which you can imagine the kids were over the moon about. Of course it wasn’t all work and no play and Perse School set aside some time to explore this beautiful, inspiring and exotic country by trekking Mount Fansipan, cruising along the mystical Halong Bay as well as marvelling at the sights of bustling Hanoi.

TESTIMONIALS

SOME OF THE SCHOOLS WE HAVE WORKED WITH

Our first trip with PMGY to India in 2014 was so good and well organised that we went to Sri Lanka in 2015 and we're off to Ghana this year. PMGY take the hassle out of planning a school trip. We simply request where we want to go and they do the rest from flights to volunteering projects as well as all the excursions to see the best of the country too.

MICHELLE WOOLHOUSE

Hinchingbrooke School, UK - India (2014) & Sri Lanka (2015)

Spent an unforgettable two weeks renovating and supporting a community education programme. Not only did we feel we'd made a huge impact but PMGY also organised trips to The Killing Fields, S-21 Prison, the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh, as well as Siem Reap to check out the truly stunning Angkor Wat. An unforgettable trip made effortless by PMGYs planning and expertise.

MARLYN NELSON

Rossland Rotary Club, Canada - Cambodia (2014)

3 weeks, 37 students + 3 staff, renovated a school playground, taught English, took in the sights of Hanoi, floated along enchanting Halong Bay, climbed Mt Fansipan and even made National Vietnamese TV! What can I say? Simply brilliant from beginning to end. The students got so much out of it, especially the volunteering. They've been talking about it ever since.
