Develop understanding on how a lack of funding impacts the quality of care provided in a developing country. Experience traditional beliefs and different cultural attitudes that exist around childbirth. Observe limited prenatal care on your work experience as a midwifery student.

GHANA MIDWIFERY MISSION
Observe qualified midwives during patient consultations on the maternity ward and understand the different conditions pregnant women in Ghana face. Witness childbirth in the delivery room and assess the contrasts in care. Be prepared for a lack of maternity support during labour and limited prenatal care beforehand. Your mission in Ghana will be an eye-opening experience!
SRI LANKA MIDWIFERY MISSION
Learn Sri Lanka's midwifery practises as you rotate through maternity units in government and private hospitals. Observe midwives and other medical staff in their daily tasks in theatre, labour, and postnatal wards. Gain exposure to the different aspects of care for new mothers and babies. Learn about Ayurveda medicine, one of the world’s oldest holistic treatment systems.
TANZANIA MIDWIFERY MISSION
Shadow midwives in the maternity ward of a government hospital in Tanzania. Provide support to expectant mothers and pay attention to the advice doctors give them during the labour period. Observe births and c-sections as you witness first-hand the role of a midwife in the birthing process. Provide postnatal care as you talk to mothers about family planning and birth control.
